1. You must be sure that you have read and understood the rules before you begin participating in the channel. Every new (and old) member is expected to be able to follow the rules as stated here at all times, and not being aware of them is not a defence for breaking them.
  2. If you wish to report someone breaking a rule, contact an op, these are the users with the @ symbol by their name in the nick list. The ops keep logs of all goings-on in the channel, so please be fully aware of what you are reporting.
  3. Use of the @find command is permitted, but given that most servers do not have it enabled, and the inconsistent naming policies of servers, use of it, particularly as the main means of locating media, is discouraged.
  4. The channel is home to people of many various beliefs, cultures, lifestyles and other background. Everyone is required to be fully tolerant of everyone else. Anyone who shows that they cannot live by this rule will very likely be banned from the channel permanently.
  5. Spamming, flooding and advertising in the channel are not allowed (this includes away status ads), nor is harassing any other user. If anyone is found to be doing any of these things, please report it to an operator if none seem to be around.
  6. Measure twice, cut once.
  7. The channel is designed for fans of the show all over the globe, meaning for many, downloading our encodes is the first chance to see new episode. Spoiling the episode is not permitted until 36 hours past the time of airing, unless otherwise specified in the channel topic (to view this, type /topic #power-rangers)
  8. Since Power Rangers is an American show, the chosen language for the channel is English. Please provide English translations for messages typed in other languages. This includes any messages in the channel, such fserve ads and requests as well as chat.
  9. Any server who has been serving for at least one week may run a request ad, asking for up to three encodes at once. This ad may run once every 60 minutes. However, please do not constantly request episodes as an alternative to searching and queuing on fserves, only use it as a last resort in the event that the encode you want cannot be found at all.
  10. If a server or op needs to run a clone, then he/she may have one. Regular users should not run clones.
  11. The final decision always rests with the ops. If you find yourself uncertain of an infraction, consult an op, but be sure to wait for a definitive reply. A misunderstanding, or acting without such a reply, is not a defence against breaking a rule. Better to be sure before you act.
  12. No running with scissors.
  13. The encodes provided for the channel may not be sold. Anyone found attempting to profit from the work of the channel's encoders will be banned permanently.
  14. If a non-server gains voice by inadvertently pasting someone else's fserve ad, please type !devoiceme or part and rejoin the channel immediately.
  15. The .torrents are for channel members only. People who come only to steal the torrent files and leave will be banned from the tracker and/or channel. People are required to be in the channel while on a torrent.
  16. On a similar note, our encodes are not to be torrented or otherwise released in any public forums, be they BitTorrent communities, IRC channels, message boards, anything. This will result in a permanent ban in all cases. If you want people to have the encodes, either send to them personally or point them to the channel.
  17. No littering.
  18. All glory to hypno-toad!

<Tommy> It's smiled upon for everyone to keep their own council on watching the topic, knowing how long encodes generally take to produce, and always, always erring on the side of appreciating the distribution team to the best of one's ability.
